How Do I Come Full Circle back to Strength?
I began my fitness journey back in the days of leg warmers doing gym workouts, teaching fitness classes, working as a personal trainer, and coaching swimming. However, when I discovered yoga everything started to shift. Yoga became the foundation that enhanced everything else I was doing, both physically and mentally.
After more than three decades in the world of yoga and yoga therapy, where body mechanics have always been my primary focus, I find myself returning to strength training, bringing with me the invaluable lessons yoga has taught me about body awareness, proper form and alignment, posture, balance, breathing, and so much more.
As more research highlights the importance of strength, especially for women's health, we're realizing that strength is not just essential for longevity but also for improving the overall quality of life. Currently, I’m focusing exclusively on working with women, and it's been an incredibly fun and unexpected turn in this season of my life.
I have created a dedicated gym room at my home/office in addition to the yoga studio. I have been accumulating weights, bands, straps, bars, etc. for us to evolve and build our bodies. I am currently working on building online programs but I think its best in person so we can untangle the nuanced issues that come up as we do new things.
